Course Overview
This degree aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to improve and protect the health of the public and reduce health inequalities between individuals, groups and communities through co-ordinated action.
The course is mapped to UKPHR Practitioner Standards and is listed on the UKPHR website; graduates are eligible to apply for UKPHR Practitioner Registration.
Develop contemporary knowledge of the diverse areas of practice contributing to public health and the wider determinants of health inequalities
Contemporary curriculum develops theoretical understanding of core and wider public health concepts applied to real-world scenarios
Research-informed approach blending theory with real-world applications, covering diet, nutrition, healthy settings and media
Entry requirement, in one line
96 UCAS Tariff points (A Level: A*=56, A=48, B=40, C=32, D=24, E=16), or relevant work experience considered as part of a holistic application. Next intake: September, January, May.

Who Fits This Course
- ✓Meets or is close to 96 UCAS Tariff Points (or equivalent alternative qualification)
- ✓Holds GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4+ (or accepted equivalent)
- ✓Interested in population health, policy, epidemiology or health protection careers
- ✓Can commit to a standard daytime, 2-day-a-week campus timetable
- ✓Mature applicants or career changers with relevant work experience, even where formal qualifications fall slightly short of standard UCAS Tariff Points
Who Does Not Fit
- ✕Falls well short of 96 UCAS Tariff Points with no accepted alternative route
- ✕Cannot evidence GCSE-equivalent Maths and English (grade C/4 or above)
- ✕Needs evening/weekend-only study, this course is standard delivery only
- ✕Is looking for fully online or distance learning
